This piece is handmade by Jemez Pueblo artist, Marcella Yepa. Marcella has been creating her beautiful pottery for 35 years. Her pieces often feature graceful curves and highly polished surfaces. Marcella only uses natural materials to create her pottery. She gathers clay, minerals and pigments from local deposits of Jemez Pueblo. She then uses traditional coiling method to create the vessels and fires them outside in traditional firings. Her pieces are true works of art.
Marcella's work is represented by the Smithsonian Museum, Heard Museum and the U.S. Department of the Interior.
