Alta Yesslith is famous for her vast range. She creates pottery of all shapes and sizes, colors and designs. She also uses traditional methods when crafting each piece. She paints bold motifs as well as geometric patterns and blends line work with texture work. To craft each piece she first digs the clay from her Pueblo then she forms each piece using the coil and scrape method. Afterwards she polishes each piece using polishing rocks and then paints them using a single yucca leaf. Her art is then fired outdoors using the traditional methods.

This beautiful vessel was created with clay from her Pueblo and then shaped using the coil and scrape method. It is artfully painted with bold and thin lines from a yucca leaf. The falling feather pattern is found all around the piece and the yucca leaf design creates a desert-like scene that is captivating and playful.
