White Buffalo--also known as White Buffalo Turquoise, Wildhorse and Crazyhorse--is a gemstone that is mined in northern Nevada, and sometimes Utah. It was presumed to be turquoise and often sold as such; however; its classification is magnesite and alumite. It has been popularized as White Turquoise.

White Buffalo is often very striking -as it contains dark brown and black matrix. It is a hard stone, equivalent to turquoise. It is rated a 5-6 on the Mohs hardness scale. Stones will vary from piece to piece.
