Boulder Turquoise is a specific turquoise from the Royston turquoise mine and Pilot Mountain Turquoise mine. This type of turquoise is found with rhyolite (the brown part). Rhyolite is very hard material that is able to polish. This type of turquoise is cut to show the natural vein of turquoise that runs through the host rock. Boulder turquoise is often referred to as Royston Ribbon turquoise, or simply Ribbon turquoise. This unique cut of turquoise is only found in Royston, Nevada.
