It is made by Jimmy Calabaza ( also known by his Native name Ca'win). Jimmy is a highly skilled jewelry artist from Santo Domingo Pueblo. He is known for making his own gemstone bead and is an expert in lapidary. He is one of few artists working today who still cuts, shapes and polishes all of his gemstones by hand.

Calabaza's jewelry is part of the collections of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C. and New York, The Southwest Museum in Los Angeles and the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Santa Fe, NM.
