This piece is a stunning example of classic Navajo jewelry. This piece is handmade out of sterling silver and genuine stones.

White Buffalo--also known as White Buffalo Turquoise, Wildhorse and Crazyhorse--is a gemstone that is mined in northern Nevada, and sometimes Utah. It was presumed to be turquoise and often sold as such; however; its classification is magnesite and alumite. It has been popularized as White Turquoise.
White Buffalo is often very striking -as it contains dark brown and black matrix. It is a hard stone; equivalent to turquoise. It is rated a 5-6 on the Mohs hardness scale. Stones will vary from piece to piece.

This elongated, oval sterling silver pendant is centered on a magnificent piece of White Buffalo Stone. The stone itself is composed of multiple pieces, inlaid and separated by thin strips of silver, creating a banded or geometric mosaic effect that enhances its natural beauty.

The White Buffalo Stone is characterized by its dramatic white color contrasted with fine, intricate black or gray matrix veining, which gives the stone its unique appearance. The stone is set in a smooth bezel and framed by a hand-stamped sterling silver setting, which features subtle horizontal stamp work on the sides and a flared bale at the top for hanging on a chain or cord. This blend of bold stone work and classic silver craftsmanship is a hallmark of artist Steve Francisco.
